This is the first keg conversion I did. Actually, I had very little to do with it after cutting the top out. A couple of guys in the KGB (my homebrew club) added the false bottom, ball valve, pickup tube and fittings. Unlike the hot liquor tank and mash tun, the kettle uses a bulk head fitting so there's no welding.
The perforated stainless steel false bottom filters out the hot break material quite well when I use whole hops. When I use pellets, I get plenty of hop spooge and break material in the fermenter.
